I appreciate the patience from everyone. I have gotten settled down with my new little one and we are starting to fall into a routine. I find time to play TS2 while she naps and I also will be back to updating this site with news now. Forgive me for my hiatus. I'm just going to focus on updates from the last week so as not to get too carried away here.

There is a chat scheduled on the official site from 3 pm to 4 pm PST (that's 6 pm to 7 pm EST). From 3-3:30 we will be talking about The Sims 2 coming out on The Nintendo DS, GBA, PSP, and Mobile. From 3:30-4 we will be talking The Sims 2 coming out on the PS2, XBox, and GameCube.

The Well Dressed Sim has the Shabby Comfort Bedroom to go along with the Shabby Living Room set.

Sim Squirts has a new nursery set available from the nursery poll. This one is the Paris Poodle Nursery.

My Little Arrival

Well, Nightlife came out two days ago and my copy arrived at my house Thursday but it seemed that I would have another more important arrival instead. My daughter was born Thursday morning at 11:00 am. So this Simaholic is proud to announce the arrival of a future simaholic, Abigail.

Nightlife Has Shipped!

Nightlife shipped yesterday. Some lucky few have already received their copies and are simming away and discovering lots of secrets as you read but the rest of us are all waiting patiently until our copy either arrives on our doorstep, we are able to pick it up from the gaming store we pre-ordered from, or we are just waiting for it to hit the shelves in the stores tomorrow. One thing that should have arrived yesterday if you pre-ordered from EA games, EB games or Gamespot is your code for your car download. If you think you should have gotten this I'd be checking with the place you ordered from to figure out why you haven't yet received your code.

There are a couple reviews that are already available regard Nightlife. One from GameSpy, gives the game four out of five stars. Under pros they state: "New social activities for Sims, new downtown with lots to do, dating. Vampires!" And under cons: "No significant additions to core gameplay, additional bugs introduced into code." So be aware of new bugs that you may encounter. But never fear, according the last T-mail for Nightlife a patch that fixes University and Nightlife bugs will soon be available and will work regardless if you have one or both of those EPs. The one from IGN.com also goes into detail about the new features of the game as well as providing some new screenshots.

Also as speculated it seems that the third EP will have something to do with business. Perhaps will a title something like: "Sims Open for Business." Of course this is a working title and is always subject to change. I think this will bring in a whole new element to the game and I will be looking forward to hearing more about what this EP will include. I know there are some things out there that simmers are hoping for such a magic, pets and perhaps weather. I doubt we'll see magic or pets in this one but I suppose weather is always a possibility. In fan site news:
The Well Dressed Sim once again has more for us. There are two sets of colored upholstery and pillows for the Shabby Comfort Sofa featured in the Shabby Comfort Living Room set. And all ready for Nightlife Casey has some black eyeliner as well as new lipstick which will be great for sending our sims off to the clubs (these are free downloads.)

Sim Squirts has four new everyday outfits for toddler girls available and has announced that the next donation set will be available soon.

A reminder to everyone too, please let me know if there is a fan site that you would like me to link to and/or include in my updates. I will be happy to add it as I am always out looking for good custom content.

Also, since I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday and it is still early on Wednesday yet there may be another post with updates coming your way later today as things with Nightlife develop. In the meantime:

Nightlife Ships Tomorrow!

As if anyone needed a reminder, but Nightlife will be shipping tomorrow and can be expected in stores on Thursday. Don't forget also for all of us who preordered from EA or EB (there is a third in there but I forget what it is) that we get a free car download too! I imagine that we'll get an e-mail with a code or something but I personally haven't seen anything yet.

Also, the official site will be down for maintance tonight starting at 11 pm PST (that's 2 am EST). They expect it to be down for about two hours. I imagine when we take a look tomorrow morning there will be a new look for the Nightlife release. Or it could have something to do with the slow down on the exchange that occurred over the weekend. We'll just have to check back tomorrow and see.

In fan site news:
At the Well Dressed Sim there are more contacts available for download from Julia. Also a new living room set from BriAnna, Denim Downtime Evolution. WDS had currently done 16 days straight with new downloads and have said there are more to come so keep checking back for more great stuff from them.

Over at the Sims Zone, Starrats has three new neighborhoods available for download. Also they have posted information that has come about Nightlife. Apparently it was released early in Brazil so they have some notes on some of the new things we can expect. Also, there is all indication that the third EP for TS2 will have something to do with business and sims owning their own. This was released with Nightlife but there will of course be more to come as time goes on. A word of warning that this article will contain spoilers about Nightlife so if you want to wait and be surprised by your own game don't read this article.

More Screenshots

Nightlife's official release date is one week away and with the release so close Maxis has given us five new screenshots of the game.

In fan site news:
The Well Dressed Sim continues to spoil us with new downloads. There have been three new sets posted since I last posted. First was set of decorative items entitled Buds and Bottles Tulips. They come in a variety of color and make a nice accent to your Sims living space. These were followed up by a set of six new flooring options, Hazy Ceramic Flooring, offered in six trendy colors. Today features a lovely new living room set, the Shabby Comfort Living Room. It comes complete with sofa, coffee table, end table, television, curtains and rug.

With my own legacy challenge, I have a new installment up.
Passage of Time: The Bacters in the main household continue to grow up. The girls try for private school and we have another birthday. Things are happy now, but will they stay happy for long?

From the Holiday Weekend

There was some activity in the Sim World over the holiday weekend. We are getting closer and closer to the release date of Nightlife and once again simmers will be briefly contented to explore this new EP before beginning to speculate as to what the next one will have in store. But for now, more focus on Nightlife.

Gamespot has a Q&A with Tim LeTourneau about Nightlife. The Q&A goes over some of the logisitcs of the game and how the layout will work with neighborhoods and downtowns. Go here to read it for yourself.

Gamespy has also added a preview of the game. So head on over if you want to get a peak at that.

In fansite news:
The Well Dressed Sim has been busy over the weekend giving us lots of new downloads to check out. The first is a lovely object set for all the artistic sims out there: Artist Studio Evolution. This set features an easel, lights, drop cloth and a lovely backdrop to help get those creative juices flowing with in those little sim minds. There is also an outfit for young adult men available for download. These are few and far between so I'd rush over to get my hands on it if I were you. Also Julia put up a bunch of eye color sets. And last but not least, cute pink polo for little girls by BriAnna.

Sim Squirts has added three new shirts for teenage boys.

And lastly, in the world of my own legacy challenge and blog:
Cell goes to College: Bacillus's oldest child leaves the nest and heads off to Sim State University to make a name for himself. He is also on a quest for true love. Will Cell find it? Or will he be left broken hearted?

The Sims Zone has a new staff member designing for them, Nicx. She has a lot of quality stuff available in the downloads section of their site and is worth checking out.

Sim Squirts has a new nursery set for girls to download, Little Butterfly Nursery. It is too precious and definitely worth a peek.

And over in the world of my legacy family blog, I've got a new chapter up about Bacillus and Mallory.

A Bustling Household: Involves a few birthdays and a lot of chaos as Bacillus and Mallory cope with having five children in the house and other on the way.

Nightlife Has Gone Gold

Maxis has announced that Nightlife has officially gone gold and will ship as scheduled on September 13. So good news to all of us out there who have pre-ordered. It will arrive on time and as scheduled!

Over at the WB you can send out e-cards to your friends about Nightlife. So click here if you want to tell everyone you know what a simaholic you are.

IGN.com has a preview article of Nightlife up with plenty of screenshots to check out and drool over.

In fan site news:
The Well Dressed Sim has a couple new downloads available. The first is a lovely set of six eyeshadows by BriAnna. The other is a set of Basic Panel Curtains also designed by BriAnna. The curtains come in quite a few colors and should be versatile in any home.

And over at Sim Squirts there are some more outfits for toddlers.

Oh and my simming computer is back up and running after a bit of a meltdown so I have another update on the Bacter family:
Falling into Normalcy: Things finally seemed to have calmed down some for the Bacters and back at the main house Yersinia and Xavier are falling into their family's own routine. There are a couple of birthdays to celebrate and we once again find a teenager in the house.

SimWorld Legacy Awards

In a sorry attempt to explain my lack of activity, I have been helping a few other simmers out there get together nominations for the first annual SimWorld Legacy Awards. These are awards are for all those great blogs you might be reading out there for the Legacy Challenge, both Classic and University styles. We nearly have all the nominations together and will be going live with voting before too long. If you are interested in voting for any of the nominees you can find out how to go about doing that at the official site for the SimWorld Legacy Awards.

Let me also remind everyone that there will be a chat about Nightlife tomorrow at 3 pm PST (that's 6 pm EST) so you can check that out to get all your info on Nightlife, which is to be released September 13. Also, don't forget that if you pre-order before September 30 from EB games, GameSpot or EA games you get a car download.

Jack Thomspon and TS2

I have to be honest that as soon as I heard about this GTA hack I thought immediately about TS2. NOT because I find anything inappropriate or sexual about TS2 but because I love the game and I know how stupid people can be. The more I read on this the more I think this Jack Thomspon guy is just trying to stir the waters. He appears to me to be more ignorant than anything else. I am willing to bet the man has never played the game and really that gives him no basis for his claims. If he had played the game he would realize there is nothing to get all worked up over.

I don't think it is the fault of EA or Maxis that modders can create realistic nude sims. That is beyond their control. Sure, they encourage custom content but they do not encourage content that alters the rating. And yeah, there is a cheat to remove the blur but so what? You remove the blur and low and behold it is a (as so many others have pointed out) a Barbie doll. And let's be honest. Hackers and modders are intelligent, they know what they are doing when it comes to code. If people can hack into the most secure mainframes and can find holes in operating systems can we really expect game manufacturers to make sure all their code is airtight when Microsoft can't?

On another note, going beyond the nudity. How in the world can anyone compare GTA and TS2? The games are SO different. The objectives aren't even close to being the same and what about the fact that objective GTA involves activities that are illegal. As far as I know there isn't anything that happens in TS2 that is illegal.

So that is a bit of my two cents. This guy has no basis and if he does come out to attack it, I say we Simmers out there come out by the thousands in support of our beloved game.

Updates from the Last Week

First of all, last week Maxis announced the winners of the Nightlife Style contest. The winners of this contest will see their designs featured in the new Nightlife EP. So we have just a glimpse of what some of those new looks will be. Also there are a couple new screenshots and a new video. The screenshots I've posted below.
A little bit of flirting by the karaoke machine perhaps?

The karaoke machine will be a new object featured in the new EP. We'll have to wait and see if our sims thought that was a good idea ::winks::

In fan site news:
The Well Dressed Sim has two new updates for us. The first is a three piece set that is the first of the Contemporary Bedroom from BriAnna. This set features a bed, bedding and end table. The second update has two sets of contact lens made by Julia. One set features greens and browns, the other features blues.

Sim Squirts had added bedding to go along with the Space Cadet Nursery as well as four new pants for teenage boys.

Also, Peggy's Sims has some new clothes for adult women to download.

I plan to later today post my own thoughts on the recent issues that have come to pass surrounding Grand Theft Auto and the ESRB ratings system. So look for that later and feel free to express your own thoughts once I've posted my "editoral". In the meantime...

Pre-Order Nightlife Now!

Maxis is offering a deal. If you pre-order the Nightlife EP before September 30 you get a download for a free new car for your sims! I've gone and checked out the EA link and there is still no release date set for Nightlife but with this coming out I've got to think we will be seeing a release date soon.

Also, in other Maxis news, last Friday the winners of the USC Student Life contest were revealed. You can go and watch the winning videos here.

On the main page under the news side-bar there is a link to take a survey about TS2. I've taken it and it is very worth your while to take the few minutes and take the survey. It will only be up for a limited time so don't waste anytime.

In fan site news:
Sims Squirts has a new nursery available for download, the Space Cadet Nursery. They also have a huge new donation set up for August donations. It has a lot in it with nuseries, bedrooms and loads of clothes.

And for followers of the Bacters:
A chapter on Bacillus and Mallory: Life with Bacillus and Mallory. It has a little more about the ongoing saga with Francisella, Cillia's birthday, Bacillus and Mallory discuss the number of children they would like to have and also a little bit of a surprise as well as a little bit of a cliffhanger.

Mail From Tim with Screenshots!

TSR and the Sims Zone has mail from Tim LeTourneau one of the creative forces behind the Sims. His mail came complete with three new shots from Nightlife. In his mail he mentions and new dance called the "Smustle" which gets the whole family involved. Here is the mail:

"Hi Everyone,

"Well I know I haven't written in awhile, but as many of you may know, I've been traveling around showing the game to a lot of our international players. It was a great trip, and as always, I was blown away by the fan community and their love for the game. I also had some great Sims cultural experiences, like Disco Bowling with the Dutch fan community in Amsterdam - talk about something you can tell the grandkids someday.

"Things continue to move forward with The Sims 2 Nightlife. So much progress was made while I was away. The Bowling Alley and Karaoke Machine are a couple of my favorite objects, and they just keeping getting better. Also while I was gone the child animations got hooked up for "The Smustle;" there is nothing funnier than seeing a whole family, including grandma and grandpa out of the dance floor. Knowing you guys, I wouldn't be surprised if "The Smustle" starts a new International dance craze. I can't wait for you to be able to play it yourselves.

"We are having a big day today here at EA. Each year we do something called Hot Summer Night. This is when we invite journalists to come in and see all of our games. Since you guys can't be here, I didn't want you to be left out, so I'm attaching a couple of new shots exclusively for you.

Looks like our sims have a new way to propose. How cute is this???

A new cheat has been discovered by Snooty Sims. This one allows you to set the volume of the TV your sims are watching so it is no longer the dominant sound. You can find out more about it here.

Also, since EA games is holding their Hot Summer Nights there are some more screenshots to go with the three I've already put up. But instead of posting them all here, the Sims Zone has them all on a page so to see them go here.

Also for those following along with the Bacters, I have a new chapter up: The End of an Era. There is more of the ongoing drama between Francisella and the rest of her family in this update as well was Legionella's transition to a toddler. I also put up a scoring summary for them.

The Sims on USA

The Sims seem to have found their way onto the USA Network homepage. Just goes to show you that there are simaholics everywhere ;o)

For those of you who followed the Sim Brother 4 series at The Sims Zone they have the downloads for the series available. They have everything from bedspreads to the eight contestants.

Also, following along with my legacy family for those who are interested there are quite a few new things since I posted about it last. Five new segments actually. They are:
1. Bacillus and Mallory become Parents - The first Bacter grandbaby is born and Mallory finds out about Bacillus's life of crime.
2. Francisella's Surprise - Francisella isn't speaking with her family and is really quite angry with them. She is content to live her life with Orlando but will a surprise in her life cause to re-connect?
3. Could it be? It's Generation 3! - Is pretty self-explanatory in the title: Yersinia gives birth to the first of the third generation.
4. Bacillus's Return - After not knowing what had happened to Bacillus, Mallory finds out what was going on. Also, their second child is born.
5. Francisella's Child - Francisella gets bad news but will it be overcome by the birth of her first child?

In University news, a patch may be coming to fix the glitches commonly seen with the University EP. My understanding is that this patch will be available for those who do no purchase Nightlife (as was originally thought.) As of right now there is no date for when the patch is to be released but you can keep up with this on this thread on the BBS.

The Well Dressed Sim has a lovely outdoor set perfect for all those summer picnics your sims want to throw. It is the Cirque de Outside and comes complete with canopy, chairs, tables and lanterns.

Sim Squirts has four new outfits available for toddler boys.

Peggy's Sims has a new furniture set and several new meshes for clothing and hair.

Also, for those of you following along with the story of my legacy family there are two new chapters up. The first is a short little snipit about the lives of Francisella and Orlando now that they have graduated from college. The second chapter tells about the wedding of Yersinia and Xavier.

Today is a pretty big Sim Day. First there are two new postcards available in the post office to send to your friends. One is for your best friend and the other is a thank you card.

Also there is a new set of Nightlife horoscopes for the month of July.

And as if that wasn't enough stuff for this Sim Day, there is a new video of Nightlife featuring a DJ in action.

While there are no new updates, Sim Squirts has a new look to their site. They have also added a warehouse to store old uploads. Head on over and check it out.

The Well Dressed Sim has a couple new items for download. One is a cute little potted plant called the Craisy Daisy. The other is a color pack of "Your Basic Lamp" that was featured with the Pleasant Prairie Living Room.

The Sims Zone has an article full of info on Nightlife and it also has some photos of game-play. It gives a run down of what the neighborhood/downtown will be like. It has some pictures of some of the new features that we will see in CAS. They also have a shot showing the new meter to measure how the date is going, its different from the arrow we saw in previous screenshots. The article also contains some shots of the cars and confirms that sims will be able to woohoo in cars as well as in phone booths now. They touch on vampires and new objects. Also with Nightlife we will see the return of the inventory so now sims can carry objects around with them.

Sim Squirts has four new tops for female teens. They are very cute and very free.

Peggy's Sims has three new living room set colors available for download, four new adults outfits and a new young adult outfit.

For those following along with my legacy family I have up a chapter from my first satellite house up. This chapter features the wedding of Bacillus and his college love, Mallory.

Nightlife Screenshots

Maxis has released four new screenshots for the new EP Nightlife as well as a new video. Here are the the new screenshots:

I think this just such a classic shot with throwing the drink in the face of the date. It looks like the meter in the upper right hand corner tells you how the date is going. I think he thought this date was going better than she did.

Looks like the bowling alley will be another place where your sims can make a fool of themselves.

Bowling alleys will be another new feature to the game. I wonder what skill they are working up while bowling? Body?

Release Date Rumors

There are quite a few rumors going around about when Nightlife will be released. The most recent speculation is that it will be September 13. Nothing has been confirmed yet other than Fall of 2005. I wouldn't be surprised though if we hear, officially, about the release date within the next couple of weeks.

In fan site news, Sim Squirts has put up a new donation set for the month of July that contains quite a few out fits for teens as well as a nursery/bedroom/bathroom set.

Some Updates after a bit of a Hiatus

I've been gone for a little while. I've still been in the sim world but just haven't been active here. My pregnancy is making me a little lethargic in my blogging. I wish it was as easy in real life as it is in sim life but alas it is not. But here are some updates from the past week.

On the main site Maxiodmonkey has a new object for us: the Nikko Lounge Chair:
Is it a work of art or simply a chair? This dramatic sculptural form is designed to accommodate the body and offer superlative comfort without excessive layers of stuffing and upholstery. The gently angled fine grain leather backrest and full seat depth will keep you upright in your seat while its solid milled steel base will help you maintain a Zen balance.

With the ability to design new objects and meshes available to the public people have been busy with new designs. BriAnna at the Well Dressed Sim is no exception. On Friday she created the Remotely Rustic Rooster Kitchen.

While off on my hiatus I've discovered a couple good new free sites. Both of them have updates from this weekend and both have wonderful skins and objects. First comes from PeggySims. Peggy's attention to detail in her clothing is fantastic. If you have a low graphics card you won't be able to appreciate them in game as much but here is a link to her site so you can see for yourself.

The other site, Sim Squirts, I've discovered specializes in clothes and furnishings for toddlers and children. They have some adorable stuff and is very nice in game. New Object from Maxis

Maxis has a new object for us to download: ShiShi's Frou Frou Fu Lion. In ancient China, these leonine statues, connoting bravery, strength, luck and prosperity could be found outside the homes of the rich and powerful. Add a little piece of the Orient to your neighborhood, and display your lion with pride. And I have a picture of the new object to see if you feel like heading off to add it to your custom content.

The Well Dressed Sim has four new pieces of clothing. Three are for Young Adult women and are new pant meshes and the fourth is an outfit for a female child. Check them out here.

The Sim Zone has day 4 of Sim Brother up. It is time for the housemates to take sides. Sim Brother tells the candidates of their powers and they have to decide who is for them ... and who is against them. Oh and don't forget to vote!

Apologies for a Small Hiatus

My apologies for my hiatus. I am a part of a Yahoo! group that does various sim challenges and one of them we pass families. I was a little behind on my family that I need to pass tomorrow so I have frantically been working on them trying to get caught up. But anyway, here are your updates for the past week. Sorry for the delay.

First of all, Maxis has announced the next expansion pack, Nightlife. It will have features similar to Hot Date of the original game as well as some new added bonuses. You can find more information here. And here are a few screenshots:

On GameSpy there is a Q & A about Nightlife with designers Tim LeTourneau and Shannon Copur. Read it here. Also on the main site is a new Nightlife theme for your MySimPage. Change your theme here. And finally, with all craze and spin off challenges surrounding Pinstar's Legacy Challenge Maxis has added a challenges section to the BBS.

At the Well Dressed Sim BriAnna has released the Molto Modular Sectional sofas. These trendy sofas can wrap around corners and they come complete with pillows.

Happy April Fool's Day

Maxis has given us an April Fool's gift in the form of a new download! It is the Runs with Scissors Playset: Thrill-seekers and pranksters alike will find the activity of running paired with giant scissors reduces the tedium of exercise by maximizing danger and increasing excitement. The Runs With Scissors Playset is not recommended for children. You can get the download here.

The Well Dressed Sim has been busy designing this week. Julia has released a new bedroom set, Just Beachy Bedroom. It is a lovely set featuring 11 new objects as well as wallpaper in soft greens and yellows.

I'm Baaaack!

For those of you wondering what in the world happened to me: I decided to give TS2 for Lent. That's right, for 40 days your Simaholic did not play. This even included when University arrived at my doorstep. It stayed in its box and I did not play despite being very tempted to. But I'm back now. Lent is over and I do feel that I've bettered myself somewhat for being able to give up the game I love. But since I am back it is time for updates!!!! I'll only update from the last week as this could be a very long post otherwise.

IGN.com has posted a TS2U game guide. Its got a bunch of information on the game and little tidbits. Check it out here.

There are of course loads of new downloads at TSR and now that I am back look for me to be doing some more designing.

The Well Dressed Sim has up the Dinomite Bedroom and Study. As well as some new tops and bikinis.

Happy Birthday to the Sims!

The Sims turn 5 this year. So for many of us this means that for the past five years these little simmies have been controlling our lives just as we control their's. You can read the article highlighting the 5th anniversary here.

TSR has announced the winners of their object recolor contest, Recolor Fever. You can view the winners here.

An important note: the new expansion pack will require a fix of the recolors that were made before. They will be unstable with the EP. The Well Dressed Sim has already fixed the problem and you can re-download those objects now. Check with other sites to make sure that they are addressing the issue and be aware that some of your old recolors might not work well with the EP. Also a new version of SimPE has been released that will allow recolors to be stable with the EP.

Sorry about the absence the last couple of days, work and my pregnancy had me distracted.

But anyway, Maxis has a new MySimPage theme for Valentine's Day. It is a Veronaville theme. Check it out here.

Also they have announced the winners of the "New Beginnings" movie contest. You can view the movies here.

Lots has been happening at the Well Dressed Sim. First of all, Casey, the site owner, gave a state of the site address where he gave a glimpse of what we can look forward to in the coming year. You can read the address here. Also from Julia is available the Midnight Rose Bedroom. And BriAnna has made the NuMod Living Room which features sofas and lamps in a variety of colors. As if that isn't enough, there are three new mini skirts (that's right folks a new mesh!) available.

Not a whole lot is going on out there in the Sim world but I did run across a new screenshot for TS2U.

It looks like this one is showing one of the coffee bars our sims can hang out at. Also, the cheerleader is talking on a cell phone which is an awesome new feature. Besides, the university wouldn't be complete with out that girl that calls her friend on her cell phone the second she gets out of class, just to say "I just got out of class." Ah, the joys of college.

Box Shots

I've run across the some shots of what the box for TS2U will look like. So take a look.

There are a couple new objects sets available at the Well Dressed Sim. First we have the January Bliss Living Room set. It features a coffee table, an end table and a sofa. The other object is an Upper Cabinet for the Club Counter Set. It comes in all colors. So finally we can make our sim kitchens a bit more realistic.

Chat Transcripts are Up

You can read the transcripts from yesterday's chat with TS2U Team here. They give a few insights into what some of the new features of the game will be.

For all you Mac uses out there it looks like they are getting ready to do some beta testing for the Mac version of TS2.
"Aspyr is looking for some dedicated simulation fans to beta test the Mac version of The Sims 2 and associated utilities. For the test we need people who can devote a lot of time to in-depth gameplay and give us appropriately detailed feedback on the problems they find; and can tell us how to reproduce these problems effectively. To participate in the test you must be at least 18 years of age and sign and fax to us a non-disclosure agreement. The test will probably be starting in mid-February and extending into mid-May."

New Object!

Maxis has a new object for download. Here is the description and a picture. Its a snowman!
Have a ball building your own snowman! Each of the pieces of this versatile set are stackable, and can add up to a snowman or anything else you can imagine. The snowman base and middle sections can be used alone as unique coffee tables, or stacked to reach greater heights. Made out of non-melting snow substitute for indoor or outdoor use year-round.

Game Spy has done a series entitled Letters Home. It gives us a preview of what life will be like at University. You can read the first installment of the series here. I'm pretty excited about this EP. I can't wait to give my sims a better college experience then I had (oh why oh why didn't I try and go out with Tom Brady? j/k)

TSR is getting ready to reinstate the lot downloads. They are implementing a new hack scan system and are putting lots identified to have hacks in a holding area. This will give their creators a chance to clean them up before resubmitting them for download.

A Few Downloads

The Well Dressed Sim has put up the second part of the Wonderland set. It is the Wonderland Study. It features chairs for a new desk and chess board as well as a living chair to go along with the new book case. A new lamp and computer complete this adorable set.

Cute Bedroom at WDS

The Well Dressed Sim has the cutest new bedroom set for download. It is the first part of the Wonderland Bedroom. It features the characters from Alice in Wonderland and is beautifully done! Hats off to BriAnna for this fabulous creation!

Sims 2 Voted Best Simulation Game of the Year!

GameZone.com has voted the Sims 2 the best simulation game of the year! Yeah Simmies! Also, Game Spot has the second designer's diary for TS2U. Go here to read it. Also there is a new trailer up on Gamespot as well. You can see it if you scroll down to the bottom of the page that the designer's diary is on.

This is up from TSR about their recent site issues:
As some of you might have noticed there has been some problems with the site for a couple of hours now, especially things related to the download basket. Things have been worked out and you should be able to use the service as normal now. We have given everyone with a subscription two days extra to make up for the time the site was not fully working.
They seem to be back up and running now though.

On the main site they have a new little applet for TS2U. It doesn't include any new screenshots but it is a new look nonetheless.

For all of you out there looking to have pets back The Sims Zone has reported that in an interview on the official German site Tim LeTourneau has stated that pets and weather will be in future expansion packs of TS2. I, unfortunately, cannot read German so I can't provide much help but I will give you the link to The Sims Zone. Click on it to go to this news!

Steve Bonham, owner/operator of TSR, had a conversation about TS2U with Tim LeTourneau, TS2 senior producer, and got a lot of questions answered. A sum-up of this conversation is available at TSR here.

A new living room set is available at Well Dressed Sim. The Coffee and Cream Living Room was designed by Sarhra offers a nice neutral color to your living room.

I noticed that I have hit the 1000 visitor mark. Since this is somewhat of a milestone I'd like to stop and take a moment to thank all of you who come and read my blog and who have followed along with my sims so loyally. The Sims 2 Center has just added a whole bunch of new downloads:
We have the karate girl stuff, which also includes mom and dad body shop sims, teen female clothing, and makeup.And also a purple nursery set. You can download most of it piece by piece, but there are a couple that are either PPD or Members only. Same Goes for the Karate Girl stuff. Enjoy!

A few sites have speculated as to the release date of TS2U. One is stating March 11, another March 4. Maxis hasn't released anything yet so I wouldn't bank on either of these dates just yet. Gamespot has released an official trailer for the game. You can check that out by going here.

New Update

Maxis has released a new update. This update fixes Custom Content Browser (CCB) support for Asian territories and fixes bugs related to downloadable objects. To download the update, head on over to the updates area. Get the new update here.

A few things are happening over at TSR. First they've announced the winners from their prize draw that took place during their celebration this past weekend. You can see the winners list here. They have also announced that due to the problems with hacks coming on lots they are suspending downloads for lots. This announcement seems to have caused quite a stir over there but I for one do not find it to be a bad idea.

A New Week...Few Updates

Well Dressed Sim has a new bathroom up. It is the Rose Passion Bathroom. It is very purply :o)

Around the Sims 2 has quite a few new downloads available. There are two new object sets, a wall and two floors and three sets of clothes for male toddlers.

Beware of Downloading Lots

I certainly don't mean to freak any body out with the topic of this post but I thought you all deserve a warning. I unknowingly ended up with a hack in my game. I hadn't downloaded anything but it showed up there. Somehow I ended up with the dishwasher named Candace. You can find a little more information about it here as well as how to get rid of it. I'm taking a new approach and that being I'm not going to be downloading any more lots of the exchange unless I know the source.

But enough of that stuff. A new letter from Tim LeTourneau arrived and it has more information on TS2U. It included a movie and two screenshots.

New Avatars

I was just wondering what you guys thought of the new avatars on the Maxis site. I hate them. It seems like no matter what I do with it, it just looks stupid. Let me know if you guys have similar thoughts or any tips on how to make it look more normal.

Main Site Back Up with New Features

The main site is now back up and running with a couple new features. First they have introduced a new theme for MySim Page, classic sims. This theme gives your page the look of the original Sims. There is also a new create an avatar function. It provides for more variety on the avatars associated with MySim Page. I'm not sure I like the new feature and for my own page I just used a random avatar because I couldn't make one that looked enough like me for my own liking.

A reminder that this weekend TSR is celebrating having over 100,000 Sims downloads. For all the details you can go here. Be sure to check it out because they will also be making about 10% of all their downloads available for free. I'm still waiting for my two latest creations to be published and I am working on more. Watch for them.

GameSpot has a preview article and designer interview on TS2U. It gives a few new details.

Also, I've noticed that Sims 2 Center is down again. I know they've been having a lot of problems with hackers but hopefully they will be able to make it through this and keep their forums up and going.

Main Site Issues

For all of you out there trying to log into the main site they are having some technical difficulties but are hoping to have the site back up and running again soon.

My skin tone and eye color have been accepted over at TSR so look for them to be available for download soon, maybe sometime today???

Two new sets of objects are up at Well Dressed Sim: Stainless Steel Kitchen and Pastels and Plastics Patio (really cute.)

There is a bunch of new stuff designed with Homecrafter at the Sims Zone.

My apologies to all of you waiting to hear on the Daniels and the sextuplets. I have been very sidetracked with the Legacy challenge. Although I do try and get back to Arbordale every now and then. Little Preview

I've finally uploaded a new skin tone and eye color to TSR. It isn't available for download yet but I thought I'd give you my loyal readers a sneak preview of them.

This shows both the skin tone and the eye color. Its almost a purple color. I think it looks really cool and I've fallen in love with the skin tone. The sims I'm showing is Asher Cheleq, one of my legacy sims who I haven't played much because he is on my husband's computer.

The Sims 2 Center is back up and running with its forums! After having been down for close to a month. I am personally quite thrilled about this. It is one of my favorite forums.

The Well Dressed Sim has released their first custom kitchen for TS2. It is the Lavender Fantasies Kitchen and is complete with flooring and wall paper. I hope that we can expect a dining set to go with it soon.

Back from the Holidays!

I hope everyone had a good holiday and I am back to the Sim world, which I missed very much during my time away. Of course I've got updates for you!

There are a few new features over on the official site. First a link has been added about TS2U. It contains screenshots and information about the upcoming expansion pack. Also, they have added a rating system to the movies on MySimPage. I've discovered that the flagging of lots flags not just hacks but recolors as well. I thought this was an important thing to point out as hacks tend to cause more problems to the game than recolors do.

I've uploaded my first floor to TSR. I'm still working on the recoloring of objects. I keep getting the neon blue fridge. I'm hoping to get that sorted out before long and have some recolored objects up. But here is what my floor looks like. You can download it here.

The Well Dressed Sim has uploaded a new nursery set, the Sweet Thing Nursery.

The Sims 2 Center is still having issues with their forums. I don't have any news on when that might be back up and running. I will keep you posted as best as I can.

Maxis has released the Homecrafter Plus. You can download it here. Along with the new tool, they have also made a Kwanzaa Kinara, which you can download here.

With the release of Homecrafter TSR has opened a new sections for floors, walls and ground textures so upload away!

WDS has created walls and floors to go with a few of their furnishing sets.

The Sims Zone has also added a few new creations with the addition of Homecrafter.

While Maxis has added a new feature to the exchange, showing the presence of hacked objects, it also seems to be creating a lot of confusion. For example a few lots I have uploaded are flagged with having hacked objects but I have never downloaded a hacked object. So, they are currently working on this and I will keep you posted on what develops from this.

Sims Resource is loaded with lots of a new objects. As well as the others. I still haven't gotten my new content on there. I will sometime in the next couple of days, I promise.

Lots of new stuff at WDS. There are some new clothes. Also, two new object sets, Delightful Daisy Bedroom and Ducky Bathroom: Evolution of the Duckling.

The Sims 2 Center is still having their difficulties and the forums are still down.

Emma: All Grown Up

Emma's teenage years have slipped away.

The night before her birthday that would bring her into adulthood a burglar broke into the Daniels house.

This seemed rather foolish since Janie is a police officer herself. The intruder was successfully captured and the Danielses were given a $500 dollar reward for nabbing the criminal. Troy has started bringing Tyson Larson home from work with him and Emma stayed close by Tyson's side the entire time. Of course, Emma was still a teen at this point and so she could not steal away with Tyson. Tyson has become to high profile and a scandal like that would kill him. However, a marriage to the mayor's daughter would only help him so they are biding their time.

They don't have to bide much longer because Emma is now an adult.

She grew up overweight (YIKES! Too much time studying) so she promptly began a workout routine to get her ready for her wedding (which she thinks will be soon, even though Tyson has not yet proposed). Troy approves of the match and Emma is always wanting to please her father. Are wedding bells in the future?

O Christmas Tree!

Maxis has made a Christmas tree for us! It is available to download on the main site. Get it here. They've also changed the look of the page a bit.

TSR has bunches of new download for clothes and objects up for downloading.

More furnishings over at WDS. There is the Tasteful Toile Bedroom in the furnishings and some lingerie as well.

The Sims 2 Center is having some technical difficulties and while you can still access their downloads the forums are down so be aware of this for those of you who frequent the forums. Although, you probably know this by now.

At the Sims Zone there are some new skin tones, blue and pale.

A Few Things from the Sim World

Not a whole lot going on in the Sim world yet today. But I always give you what I have.

WDS has another furniture set ready to go. This time it is the Daydream Floral Living Room. It is a very nicely detailed set.

Also, rumor has it that Maxis may be releasing an editor for walls and floors in the next couple of weeks. Looks like we simmers may have an early Christmas present from Maxis. Although I think more than a few of us would like to see that Christmas tree object for a nice addition to the game. I know I would.

Also, there is a good article at IGN.com highlighting some of the features of TS2U. It reveals two of the new career tracks that are opened up, our good friend the paranormal career track that seems to included resurrecting dead sims and the ecology career track which unlocks a mad cow plant that can be your best friend or cause some serious trouble.

The Sims Zone has put up a lipstick collection for download.

Personally, I got onto CAS last night and created a new skin tone and eye color. I haven't submitted to TSR yet but I will once I get some shots in the game. I'll post the pics here so you can see if you want to go download it. The skin and eyes are designed for a new legacy challenge since I like to have as many things going as possible. Keeps me happy.

Maxis Site Troubles

It seems that there have been some troubles with the main site the last couple of days. I'm not sure what has been going on but the site seems to be up and running now. Perhaps they were getting ready to launch something big Thursday??? But it could just have been some server problems. Don't want to get anyone's hopes up.

The Sims Resource has put up a tutorial on recoloring of objects curtesy of ModtheSims. I haven't tried it yet myself but I may give it a try this evening. Please post comments about how you found the tutorial. No new downloads are up yet today.

I hope to do a bit of work in CAS tonight and may dabble with recoloring objects. That is, if I can tear myself away from my Legacy Family.

The Well Dressed Sim has figured out how to re-color objects. They have two new sets available for download: Friendly Farm Nursery and Paisley Bleaque Bedroom.

The Sims Resource also has re-colored objects available for download and they are available for free.

I think it will not be too long now before we start seeing some new designs. Re-colors are a start.

I have some new TS2U screenshots that I will post later today. Look for those this evening.

Chat Transcript is Up

The transcript from yesterday's chat about TS2U is now up on the main site. They have stated in the chat that our sims will now be able to have cellphones! How cool is that??? Our sims are now mobile. It sounds like there are going to be a lot of cool features in the game.

I've made an executive decision and I'm going to stop posting updates about TS1 as Maxis themselves no longer post updates.

Sim Community Update

Just a bit of an update for you all with what is going on in the Sim community.

TS1
The Sims Resource has a few new downloads for TS1 but they are starting to dwindle with the rise of TS2.

Sim Freaks has put up downloads of "Light Boys." As well as more seasonal type items.

TS2
For all of you out there who have become obsessed with the Legacy challenge there is an interview with Pinstar1161, the creator of the challenge, on Maxis's site. Also, don't forget there is a chat today with the design time of TS2U.

Head on over to the Sims Resource for lots of new downloads for TS2.

The Well Dressed Sim has announced that they will be releasing some objects for TS2! I'm not sure if that means Maxis has released object editing info or if they were just able to hack their way to objects. Regardless, they offer quality downloads so I would trust their hacks.

The Sims 2 Center is back up and running after being down for a day due to a hacker attack. They have some nice downloads for the holidays.

Ah Teenagers in Love

The love affair with Emma and Tyson Larson continues. They cannot seem to keep their hands off each other and the time spent with the parents went smoothly. Troy has decided to take Tyson under his wing and bring him into the ways of politics for him.

But alas, Tyson has grown into an adult so their love affair is on hold. He and Emma are still best of friends and as soon as Emma comes of age, Tyson plans on making her his wife.

Upcoming Chat

I have returned after a bit of a hiatus. I know it has been too long. But I'm back with updates and good info for you all. As you all know Maxis has announced the release of the first expansion pack for TS2, University. I personally think that it sounds like a pretty cool idea. I've got some screenshots that I'll post here.

Just to give you an idea of what to expect.

Also, Maxis has announced that there will be a chat with the design team of TS2U on Thursday at 3:00 pm (most likely this is PST so that means 6:00 pm EST.) So look for that. Also, keep your eye out for more holiday downloads.

Lots of Growing Up

Since we last left the Daniels family a lot of growing up has taken place. First the twins had their birthday and grew from toddlers into children taking a load of the shoulders of Janie and Troy and allowing Janie to go back to work. With six children in the house Janie won't be having any more (maybe later???).

Now a couple days after the second set of twins became children, it was time for Jill to grow into a teenager. This has made things rather interesting around the Daniels house with four teenagers running around. The house is pretty much madness all of the time. Jill is a lot like her father and has chosen the same aspiration as he: popularity. She is also beautiful!

Luke and Lucy are Teens

I know it has been awhile since I last posted. Real life has taken over and I haven't had much time to play or post. I did get a bit of playing done the last couple of days and I have more to report on the Daniels.

If you remember, Emma had fallen in love with Tyson Larson. She wasn't able to spend much time with him since life at the Daniels house has become quite hectic. First, Luke and Lucy grew into teenagers. They were going to have a party for them but couldn't find a time when all of them were at home at the same time so it was just a couple of birthday cakes Janie had made. So here are some shots of the new teenagers.

A couple days after Lucy and Luke grew into teenagers, Jacob and Joshua grew into toddlers. It turns out they are not identical but are happy toddlers.

Troy is now a judge as well as an excellent father. He spends the evenings with his children teaching them how to give speeches or helping with their homework or teaching them how to walk and talk. Janie continues to be the ideal mother. Emma has a great relationship with her mother and while she does sneak out with her cousin Brianna at night, she is the ideal child. She is an EMT as well as getting straight A's. Jill continues to excel at school as well.

Emma In Love

Well, I wasn't playing the Daniels family but Emma did walk herself onto the lot of another one of my families, the Larson family (see Arbordale Times for the full story of the Larsons.) She was greeted by Tyson Larson and they started talking and really hit it off. Tyson would call her on the phone and they would talk for hours. He invited her over one evening and they were talking and flirting and while she was there, Emma got to experience her first kiss.

She is absolutely smitten with Tyson. She's not sure how her dad will respond to their relationship because Tyson works for Troy's rival as an intern and he is really shaking things up in the political field. Emma doesn't care. She is in love with Tyson and she doesn't care what her dad thinks one way or another. What will happen with Troy finds out???

Around the Sims has put up the Perla bathroom for the original Sims.

Sim Freaks has up a whole bunch of Halloween downloads.

The Sims Resource is featuring Halloween downloads for the original game.

The Well Dressed Sim have put up the Addicted to Pink Living Room for TS1.

TS2
The official site has announced a scary movie contest. So make your scariest movies and submit them to Maxis. They've got things ready for your with a bunch of spooky tunes to add to your movies.

Around the Sims 2 has a spooky Halloween download of the Addams family. They look really good!

Gamespot has put up some screenshots featuring the new Halloween objects and a new official video on the presidential election debates...Sims style.

The Sims 2 Center is featuring Halloween costumes and masks and creepy haunted houses for download.

The Sims Resource has announced the winners of their Halloween Masquerade and posted the costumes for download. Also they have changed their ratings system so it is easier to use.

The Well Dressed Sim has really been at it with making skins. They have been putting up new ones at least everyday. They look really great, you've got to check them out.

WooHoo! 700 Visitors!!

First, thank you to all of you who regularly visit my site and give me such encouragement. You are the people I am writing for. So, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Second, I haven't played TS2 the last couple of days. I know this is like a Sim sin but my dog had surgery Tuesday and I've been playing the comforter for him. He is doing lots better so life is returning back to normal. I expect to return to playing this evening.

Third, look for me to resume posting news and site updates later today. I think most of us have been too caught up with the game to keep a close eye on this. But with the promise of an expansion pack in the near future I plan to keep you updated.

Finally, it may be a couple days before the Daniels family gets updated but look for how life progresses for the rest of the neighborhood on the Arbordale Times. You may catch a glimpse of someone from the Daniels family.

Happy Birthday Jill!

Not long after Janie had her second set of twins was Jill's birthday. Things were far to hectic at the Daniels house to have a big birthday bash so Troy just invited Trevor and Jupiter (see Arbordale Times for more information) over to celebrate. Jill was very happy as a toddler so she grew into a child very well.

Troy and Janie got her into private school along with Luke and Lucy. Its too hard when your dad is a congressman. Janie has agreed that it might be time to put the having babies on hold for a little while. The house has fallen into utter chaos and Joshua and Jacob aren't even toddlers yet.

How will the six children do? How far will Troy advance in the politics career? Would Janie even survive another pregnancy? Find out soon.

Another Set of Twins!

Janie's pregnancy continued to go pretty roughly. She was sick a lot, couldn't seem to keep herself fed, and couldn't get enough sleep. She was glad that Emma and Troy were helping out with Jill because she just wasn't feeling well enough to work with her. Finally, Janie went into labor. After a long labor with Troy quite worried about his wife, Janie delivered her second set of twins.

This time they were twin boys, Joshua and Jacob. Its too early to tell if they are identical but after the deliver Janie went to bed and slept for a long time. Troy, with Emma's help, got the new little ones acquainted and hired an addition built onto the house. They are happy boys and now that Janie is rested she can go back to focusing on caring for them.

Jill's birthday is real soon. Stay tuned for pictures of Jill's growth into a child.

Janie's Pregnant!

It turns out that Janie and Troy were successful in their baby making attempt and Janie is pregnant again.

This pregnancy is turning out to be a lot harder than the other three. She is having pretty bad morning sickness and she just doesn't seem to be getting enough rest. Troy is a little worried about this one and is starting to think that it should be her last. He's happy with all his children and couldn't ask for anything more.

I got to play the Daniels but I don't have any pictures yet. I took some video though and am going to work on getting another video together. But anyway, about what is going on.

On Sunday evening Troy and Janie invited the headmaster of Emma's old elementary school over for dinner. Janie made a turkey while Troy gave him a tour of the house. A tour and one of Janie's amazing meals was all it took and Luke and Lucy were quickly into private school. Janie is once again looking to have another child and Troy also wants to try. So they are currently attempting to have another child. Emma spends a lot of her time with her cousin Brianna and is doing extremely well in school and has started working as an orderly at the Arbordale hospital.

Jill has grown into a toddler and now Troy and Janie are working on teaching her all she needs to know to grow up right. I'll get some shots of her next time and we'll see what is going on with Janie and if she is pregnant again.

I Know I Said...

That I'd have more with the Daniels family but real life has gotten in the way. Don't you just hate it when that happens? Anyway, I absolutely positively will be playing the Daniels tonight. I've gotten things straighten away with the sextuplets, who are now teenagers. I can now move on to the Daniels. I should have an update up later today (more like this evening...can't play TS2 at work...although that would be great if I could) or if not today then definitely tomorrow. I'm still behind on the Arbordale Times and am working on getting a website up where I can feature downloads. We'll see how that goes since I have no idea what I am doing there. That's what I've got for now.

Small Computer Crisis

I wasn't able to play the Danielses yesterday because my computer refused to come out of hibernation. Why it was hibernating in the first place is beyond me but it won't wake up and is acting like and angry bear. I had been having some power cord issue but that should be fixed today. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to play today. I'll let you know the status later.

Another Short Arbordale Update

Okay, I should have a chance to play the Daniels tomorrow so look for an update on them then. In the meantime I have another little update about what is going on in the neighborhood. I played the Brackens, Larsons and a new family, the Platos.

The Bracken Family
Jabe successfully fell in love. It was with the townie Marisa. They got married and Marisa is now pregnant. Jasmine has started making lots and lots of friends but hasn't found a special guy just yet. Jezebel is really rebeling. She has been sneaking out just about every night with Arthur Warton. She has gotten caught by Jabe twice now and is now grounded. Jabe was NOT happy.

The Larson Family
Sean has taken to spending lots and lots of time stargazing. He seems to want to meet aliens. Tyson is making friends left and right but refuses to have his first kiss until he meets a really special girl. He is an overachiever, constantly bringing home straight A's and being at the top of the teenager politics career track. Look out Troy, you may have some competition coming your way.

The Plato Family
This is a new family (I'm almost done adding new families) to Arbordale. It is one of the more complex stories. Bruce and Susan Plato had two children, Christopher and Jenna. Christopher got married to a beauty, Janice and had two children, Eddie and Melinda. Christopher and Janice were tragically killed in a car accident (I starved them) when Eddie was a young child and Melinda was still a toddler. This left the two kids to be raised by their grandparents. Jenna has moved out on her own and is starting her own life. Bruce and Susan are trying desparately to raise their grandchildren up right. Eddie is almost a teenager now and Melinda is now a child. So far the kids are getting A's but Bruce and Susan can't get them into private school. Something about the fact that they have no parents.

An Update on Arbordale

I haven't played the Daniels family today but I have been playing the other families in Arbordale. I thought I'd give those of you who are interested a quick run down on what is happening throughout the neighborhood. If you don't care don't read any further.

The Smith Family
I'll give this one quick because you can see the whole story at the Sims 2 Center. But, Joey and Laurie have repaired their marriage and things are back to going well for them. Nina has unfortunately died. The family is mourning her death. The sextuplets are getting very close to being teenagers (FINALLY!) and will be in a day.

The Ion Family
Annie Ion now has four sons. She has two now by Scottie, Isaac and Oliver. Arthur is coming along as a teenager and has been a huge help with his brothers. He has also turned into quite the artist. Evan is now a teenager and is quite handsome. All the girls at school think he is something. It turns out he is more like his father than Annie had hoped. Isaac is now a child and is in private school and his grades are really improving. Oliver is a toddler and Annie is spending her time teaching him all that needs to be taught. Scottie has finished med school and is working as an intern now.

The Daniels Family
This is Trevor. Trevor was stargazing through his telescope one night and was abducted by aliens. To his shock he came back pregnant. Before long he had given birth to an alien baby. He named his new son Jupiter because he thinks that is the planet the aliens took him to. Jupiter is now a toddler and Trevor is taking time off work to help raise him. The crazy part about it all is that Trevor wants to be abducted again!

The McHale Family
Maggie McHale has fallen in love. She fell in love with Sandy Brute. They were joined and were living happily together. Before long they decided they wanted to adopt a child. They chose the child age because they are both career women and didn't want to neglect a baby or toddler. So they adopted Jerry. They easily got him admitted to private school and have moved into a bigger house.

The Bracken Family
This is one of the newer families in Arbordale. Jabe recently became a widower and moved to Arbordale with his twin teenage daughters, Jasmine and Jezebel. Jabe is looking for love again and really misses the companionship his wife gave him. Jasmine and Jezebel are about as different as two people can be. Jasmine is more geared toward taking care of her family whereas Jezebel is more focused on boys. Jezebel has successfully wooed Arthur Warton and they experienced their very first kisses together. Jasmine wants to fall in love and have it remain as true love.

The Larson Family
Sean Larson moved to Arbordale after his wife left him alone with their teenage son, Tyson. They are just getting started with their lives but Tyson is a great student in the private school he attends and Sean is just starting to acquainted with his new life.

So that is life in Arbordale. I'll keep you posted from time to time.

The Sixth Family Member

Things are still great for the Daniels family. The last few days have been very hectic around the house. First, Troy got elected to Congress and has now become Congressman Daniels. His political career continues to go extremely well, as does his marriage. Janie has been on maternity leave and doesn't have much going on in the career world. The time was coming for birthdays. It just so happened that Emma and the twins were sharing a birthday. Troy and Janie were busy getting things ready for their birthdays when all of a sudden Janie went into labor. It so happened that Janie delivered another girl that they named Jill.

After Jill's birth the time came for Emma's and the twins' birthdays. They had a small party that had pretty much just family. First Emma grew into a teenager and was very happy. The first thing she did was hit the Arbordale Mall to do some shopping. Luke and Lucy grew into children shortly after Emma grew to a teenager. Now that the twins are children the next step will be for Troy and Janie to get them into private school. Troy thinks that no child of his will be in public school.

So the family now has six members. Janie's 10 children want has gone away although there is still the want of having a baby. I'm going to keep an eye on that because I'm not so sure I want to go with 10 children. I'll keep you posted on that one. But here is a nice family shot:

The Twins are Toddlers

They just grow up so fast! Before Janie and Troy knew it, it was the twins' birthday. They had a party for them and invited over family and friends. Luke was the oldest of the twins so he grew into a toddler first.

Next Lucy grew into a toddler.

So far all three of the kids have looked more like Janie than Troy. If you ask Troy he will tell you that's a good thing. But they have a bit of Troy's charisma to them. So far Troy's track record for running for office has been crystal clean. Here's the latest family shot. As you can tell, Janie's not showing from her current pregnancy just yet.

Arbordale Times

I just thought I'd let you know that I've started a new blog called Arbordale Times. This blog will focus on all the families that live in Arbordale. It won't be as detailed as this one but at least people who are interested can see what is going on with all the families. I'll also provide links to the Maxis site so you can download any of these families if you are interested. I hope that you'll check it out and let me know what you think.

GAH!!! 10 Children Want

Janie still has this crazy want of having 10 children. So, being the good Simmer that I am, I am attempting to fulfill this want. It turns of that Janie seems to be rather fertile and with the attraction level still very high between her and Troy it was not hard for Janie to get pregnant yet again.

Fortunately, the birth of the twins hasn't effected Emma in a negative manner. She is still doing great in her private school and continues to get A+'s on her report cards. Troy and Janie are of course extremely proud.

Emma and Troy continue to have their close father/daughter relationship and Emma is always at the car ready to hug Troy before he can even get out. Troy loves it.

So life really continues to go quite well for the Daniels Family. Troy is still doing great in his career, Janie is turning into a fantastic mother, Emma is doing great in school and the twins are happy little babies.

Stay tuned to see the twins' birthday and how they will look once they become toddlers.

Birth

Janie has gone into labor!

It turns out that multiple births must run in the Smith family. Janie gave birth to twins! This is a lot more bearable than sextuplets her brother had. The twins are a boy and a girl. Troy and Janie were very surprised to have two babies come along. The first born was a boy, Luke.

The second born was a girl, Lucy.

Janie and Troy are going to be very busy raising these twins as well as making sure Emma stays up on her studies. But Emma is excited to be a big sister and likes to help out with the twins.

Here is a shot of both of the twins in their crib.

So, it turns out that Janie has the aspiration to have 10 children. The big question is will we be able to reach that goal. Stay tuned to see if this happens.
